What we offer

An effective timing solution to improve resilience and robustness of European Critical Infrastructures based on Galileo constellation. GIANO will represent a credible test bench for innovation to be industrialised by the customisation towards specific applications and users' need. GIANO timing receiver will be the result of an user-driven development process, exploiting EU GNSS benefits towards downstream sector.

Anti-jamming and anti-spoofing detection and mitigation capability

Anti-jamming and anti-spoofing detection and mitigation capability

The receiver will be able to detect any external threat, avoiding signal degradation and unavailability, strongly enforcing the availability of the timing service

Multi-frequency, Multi-constellation and EGNOS-ready device

Multi-frequency, Multi-constellation and EGNOS-ready device

: Capability to provide time solution based on Galileo‐only signals in single or multifrequency and multiconstellation solution

Time-Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (TRAIM) algorithm

Time-Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (TRAIM) algorithm

The algorithm assesses the reliability of the timing solution provided by the GNSS timing receiver, also enhancing performance in terms of stability and robustness

Revert to an accurate time‐steering and/or holdover mode

Revert to an accurate time‐steering and/or holdover mode

Capability to revert to an accurate time‐steering and/or holdover mode based on a high-quality oscillator (OCXO), in case of loss of tracking of GNSS signals, and with a transparent timing output towards the user

Time output delivery through STD interfaces and protocols

The receiver will be able to detect any external threat, avoiding signal degradation and unavailability, strongly enforcing the availability of the timing service

Built-in self-calibration receiver system

Built-in self-calibration receiver system

Built‐in calibration system that could be operated continuously to monitor the delays in the receiving chain, ensuring accuracy during the lifetime and also allowing a simplified certification process

Main target domains of application

According to the specification of the grant agreement, main target applications will cover several domains: Telco, Energy and Finance. Furthermore, GIANO Consortium will evaluate the possibility to broaden the adoption of the receiver towards different users in other areas
